The game was originally released on Sept 25, 2012 in North America, Sept 27 in Australia, Sept 28 in Europe, and Oct 18 in Japan. The only difference was the Wii U version which was released on Nov 18 in North America, Nov 30 in Australia and Europe, and Dec 8 in Japan.

FIFA 13 features twenty six different stadiums to play in. Tottenham Hotspur’s White Hart Lane and the Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd International Stadium are the two newest stadiums to the game. There is also n a new generic stadium that’s not based on a real one called “Sanderson Park.” FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium does not appear in this version of the game due to licensing issues.

On September 6, 2012 a soundtrack for the game was announced. The soundtrack features fifty different artists such as Flo Rida, deadmau5, and Hadouen! and many more.

The game was pretty well received among the critics. IGN gave the game a 9/10 score. GameSpot game it an 8/10. CNET rating the iOS version of the game a 4.5/5 stars while claiming it to be one of the best sports games for iOS devices.
However, not all reviews of the game were positive. The Wii version got a negative review from ONM who gave it a 30% rating. The Playstation Vita port of the game similarly received bad reviews. OPM gave it a 5/10 while claiming it was nothing more than a clone of FIFA 12. GaminXP claimed that the 3DS version of the game had very clumsy controls.

However, despite the mixed reviews, FIFA 13 was still a financial success. In the UK alone, FIFA 13 managed to sell over a million copies in a week. In the five days after its release. the game managed to sell 4.5 million copies worldwide. As of May 2013, over 14.5 million copies have sold around the world. According to EA, this was the biggest sport game launch the industry has ever seen.

FIFA 13 isn’t going to be a game that everyone will love. Being a sports game, and one based on soccer, has left it with a fairly small niche fan base. However, that hasn’t stopped the game from becoming an amazing seller and bringing in millions of dollars in revenue.
If you’re a fan of sports in general, though especially soccer, FIFA 13 is probably worth checking into. Even if you’ve not liked sports games in the past, you may enjoy this one.
